After divulging their internal procedures, the Council for Six Sigma Certification acts as an Official Industry Standard of Six Sigma Accreditation for Six Sigma training providers throughout the world who choose to join together behind our standardization. We are a Six Sigma professional accrediting body that does not provide training, mentoring, coaching, or consulting services.

Which Belt Do I Require?

A Six Sigma specialist with extensive knowledge of the methodology can be a valuable asset to any firm. The following should provide insight into Six Sigma earning potential. There are four levels of achievement. As the level of accomplishment increases, so does the opportunity to increase your value to an organization.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt LSSYB®

There are no prerequisites for taking the CSSC Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification Exam. Once the examination assessment fee is paid, you will have 1 year to successfully pass the exam.

There is no project requirement for this level of Certification.

Achieve a score of 140 points (or above) out of a potential 200 points.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt LSSGB®

There are no prerequisites for taking the CSSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Exam. Once the examination assessment fee is paid, applicants will have 1 year to successfully pass the exam.

There is no project requirement for this Certification.  However, this certification is a prerequisite for any individual wishing to pursue the Level II Green Belt Certification, which does have a project participation requirement.

Achieve a 280-point (or higher) score out of a possible 400-point total.



Lean Six Sigma Black Belt LSSBB®

There are no prerequisites for taking the CSSC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Exam. Once the examination assessment fee is paid, you will have 1 year to successfully pass the exam.

There is no project requirement for this Certification.  However, this certification is a prerequisite for any individual wishing to pursue the Level II Black Belt Certification which does have a project requirement.

Achieve a 420-point (or higher) score out of a possible 600-point total.
